(California) The school and teachers were being sued by parents who wanted their children's failing grades changed to passing grades even though those children were absent 15-30 times during the semester and did not complete enough school work to pass their classes. This was voted unanimously by the office staff as the actual answering machine message for the school: "Hello! You have reached the automated answering service of your school. In order to assist you in connecting the right staff member, please listen to all your options before making a selection: To lie about why your child is absent - Press 1 To make excuses for why your child did not do his work - Press 2 To complain about what we do - Press 3 To swear at staff members - Press 4 To ask why you didn't get information that was already enclosed in your newsletter and several flyers mailed to you - Press 5 If you want us to raise your child - Press 6 If you want to reach out and touch, slap or hit someone - Press 7 To request another teacher for the third time this year - Press 8 To complain about bus transportation - Press 9 To complain about school lunches - Press 0 If you realize this is the real world and your child must be accountable/responsible for his/her own behavior, class work, homework, and that it's not the teachers' fault for your child(ren)'s lack of effort, hang up and have a nice day!" Parents who Love their Child or Children aka Kid/s should stand up and take Responsibility for them. To many Parents today do not take enough time to truly know their Kid/s and instead Talk "At" Them!... Not "To" Them. To be a Good Parent You must realize a Child only has a short time to have Work Ethics, Self Pride and be shown the Responsibility that is... only Them solely... Who can Help Themselves to Succeed... Without this Guidance they Fail School and You also get a Failed Grade as a Parent! The Parent factor must also be known without Your Guidance... and You not Solely depending on Schools to do the Job... Will Your Child Succeed *Remember how You always thought would never get out of School? How You had all the time in the World to Correct Your Errors! Only to find those Years Passed through Your Fingers like Water... Apply this to the Importance of why You Must Not Waste Time by not helping Your Kid/s... but Immediately Jump into Help!...Time is very Precious!* Realize Schools due to State/Federal Laws... Local Guidelines and Curriculums have their Hands tied behind their backs... With New Child Advocacy Laws...Students Kid/s even Parents now know how to use Loop Hole Laws! to get away with things also! just this side of Murder! Better yet have the Responsibility for Their Actions Advocated as a Failure in Our School Systems. Whereby Todays Schools act merely as a place a Child goes today for Education... That sometimes acts merely as a Babysitting Agency If Your Child is out of Control they truly can't do a thing for them Secondly its truly not their Job!... Yes not their Job!... Schools merely are a "Resource Presenting" place to go... TV, News, even Libraries act in the same capacity. Unless taught how to use the images provided to Your Kid/s by You... they also will not Succeed Third and not least never Assume Your Kid/s are being taught Computers and other High Tech skills Because at best they are only being taught the Fundamental basics... *Check Your Kid/s skills might find they can play Games on them but have No idea how to even use a Search Engine!...or even how to Cut Paste or even Copy* Remember as My Foster Dad taught me using the Word Assume if Your not doing Your Job U make an Ass of out U and an Ass out of Me!!!... Very Wise Words from a Man who had the equivilent of a 8th Education... Who taught me to be Proud of what ever I did... and the Love to Learn Something New Everyday! Yes Folks there truly are Teachers who care... also Parents who really care!... Hopefully You will help Your Kid/s to Succeed and Teach them to Love themselves... as well as the Love for Education Myself I would Choose No Options after checking the Novelty of... Hey You Dumb Parents This is Your Wakeup Call! Your Failing Your Job!...Better Check and see how Ignorant Your Kid/s really have become... due to Your Failure as a Parent... Should put the Lawsuit on Yourself! its truly Your Failure! I'd Merely Hangup and do a High 5 for the Teachers and Staff of Palisades High for the Answering Machine Answers that have been a Long time in Coming!!! Remember Only You can Stay on Your Kid/s Rear/s to Stay in School...Get a Education... Help Others! and then become The Person they truly should be. Pssst if Your One of the Parents in this Lawsuit! don't get down on Me! Remember as My Foster Dad also said "When You Point a Finger!...Always remember there are usually 3 Pointing back!"
