This Weeks TopicBeing PreparedExpect The Unexpected  ...like a HappyFace on the Moon! Pic' from JerSooz archives There's A Lot to Say For Being Prepared! Are you prepared for the Unexpected today? In the past week something happened to one of our computers. For the life of us we don't know exactly when or how it happened! We suspect it has something to do with opening, or attempting to open a picture in AOL of gruesome incidents in Iraq. Immediately after trying to open this picture things started going haywire with the computer. Beware of what you open! Especially pictures relating to the News Make special note to avoid all pictures which could be similarly tainted. These would include anything having to do with hostage and/or terrorist activities. Keep reading to see why we urge you to follow this advice. Whatever we hit, opened, or contracted (we still are not sure) activated our virus protection which warned of Trojans infecting the system. Then, to make matters worse Internet Explorer developed a runtime error. Short of rebuilding the computer we are trying everything to resolve this and correct it! Even though we have not found a solution, and haven't figured out the origin so far, we feel lucky that this has not affected the other computers in our office. However, it is a nuisance and time consuming not to mention being extremely frustrating right now. It is a comfort to know, while we are busy sorting out this mind boggling conundrum that we did have the experience and foresight to have everything backed up on the other computers. If you don't have other computers to back up to take an hour or so and put all your computers software in an easy to find place. Make back ups of everything you deem important and do this on a regular basis. You never know when something (such as a virus or other attack) might stop you in your tracks and cause you to lose everything.
