Did you guess a Giant Birdfeeder?

Well, that's real close and who'd a thought it is named 'Big Bird'! This is actually a picture of a garden designed by four girls, aged 13, from Burntwood School, Tooting, west London Daihatsu Green Garden.

Art, and how we see it is a good example of the many differences in opinion and/or perspectives we, as human beings can have.

When you go to a gallery with several people you can really see the varied opinions we have when we look at the paintings, sculptures or what have you. That's the beauty of it all! No two people can possibly have identical perspectives on anything.
Acceptance of Others Perspectives
It is important to remember that looking at things in life is a lot like viewing art. We have to respect others opinion and realize that we are each expected to posess and allowed our own voice/ideas/opinion/perspective.

Our Differences Keep Life Interesting

For instance, if we disagree that a certain statue would look good in the front yard, and our partner says absolutely not, we can dispute it but ultimately we will both walk away with our same perspective as before the conversation began.

It is up to us whether, and how often we decide to revive this topic after realizing we have a different opinion.

What is the purpose of disputing the things we can not change (such as other peoples opinions)? It is completely OK to share what we think, but trying to alter someone elses opinion can become annoying at best.

Why continually debate opinion when the facts are and will stay the same? What makes one opinion right and the other wrong?

Without any facts an opinion is only that- an opinion and everyone is allowed thier own opinion!

Words For The Wise
Focus On Things You Can Do Something About

Have you ever spent an entire day trying to change someones mind about something, only to find out they are not going to change until they are good and ready to?

Who hasnt! We all have done this and when we finally realize the facts, we end up kicking ourselves in the head, so-to-speak, asking ourselves "what was I thinking anyway!"

If you are one of those people who can't seem to get off an "agree to disagree topic" here are some ideas for you:

Make a list of worthwhile things to do with your time/energy.
Start your day by making a list of the things you can do to make your day one that you will feel good about yourself. Whether it is weeding the garden, buying a gift, calling your Mom or what not. This way when you lay down to go to sleep you won't be saying to yourself should have done this that or the other thing.

Try to open your mind a little with the understanding that a lot of times there is no 'right' or 'wrong' in a lot of circumstances or situations where opinion is concerned.
Even though you believe you are right when having a heated discussion with someone else on an opinion-related issue, take a few to reflect on the discussion as if it is something in the past. Look at it as if you have had this conversation before and maybe it will help you to get past trying to change the other persons opinion.

Let go of the idea you are going to change that persons opinion.
After both sides have voiced their opinions it's a good idea to leave the topic alone, at least for a while. If the other person is given time to think about what your views are there is a chance they will change their perspective. If they don't change their opinion be content to know that at least it has been brought out in the open.

Check yourself for possible negative self-talk
We all try and sabotage ourselves from time to time. Next time you get in a heated disagreement about something you can not do anything about look at your own disposition. Are you thinking negative thoughts in the background, which are causing you to lash out at, say, the person you are talking with? Try running a quick self evaluation on your own self next time you get so mad at someone else you could scream and bet you find there are other things, negative thoughts clouding your mind.

Live by example, or Do as I do ! it works!
Remember when we were young we used to hear, do as I say not as I do? What a joke! Kids have changed! That doesn't work any more. These days we actually have to live it, the example for it to hold any merit.

Always Remain Positive in Yourself
Your Still Moving in a Forward Direction

In other words, even though it sometimes seems like everything is going all wrong, or on a down hill zag it is really only temporary. Basically these times are just a means towards getting on with the future.

Downhill and some times seemingly backwards momentum, we should try to see as a natural part of moving forward.

Onward and upward! At no time should we ever give up on progress. Just think, if everything was explained and handed to us on a silver platter where would be the challenge of getting there or achieving it? Would it have the same value and meaning?

Ask Yourself is what your trying to accomplish really what you want? or what others are saying you need

Truth be told if You don't love yourself, then how will you teach others to love you?

Simple statistics show those who fail rarely know what they themselves want or desire

Picture yourself 1 year 5 years even 10 years from today what is it you desire? better yet how will you get there?

Then if need be set about to Change that within you, thats holding you back
