D N S.. Moving Forward
Wow DNS is that like DNA? The Answer is No!... as any Geek, Nerd or Geekess,Nerdess would Tell Ya.
They'd say No Silly DNS is Dynamic Network Setting
So Ya ask... Ok not to be Dumb but what are We Talking here?
Well not to go into all the Technical Jargon that Newbies or even Veteran Web People can get Lost in.
DNS Settings are what You need to input into Your Website so that others can see You.
Plainly put its Your Domain Access or Website Information
The Information Server that Your Website uses to reach the Great Big Wonderful Internet...That Info that finds Your Website and Little Old You.
Now to get You to where We're leading You and Why...
This Past Week One of Our Sites of the 4 We use in a Multiple Domain Server Configuration<---Wow More Big Words.
We didn't have the Access to gain Control of it so could change the DNS settings
So its now Technically setting in Limbo a working Website but for who knows how long or even if might Lose the Domain Name all together
Remember Last Week we said FeaturePrice.Com Our Webhost was going out of Business and this week has been a Fiasco because We can't Truly Contact Them
Yeah We hit every contact Name and Email that We could find and so far to No avail
Now We have been told FeaturePrice.Com was bought by Someone else
Still no Names or Contacts given to Rectify this and to beat it All 1st time ever Our One Main Email for this Account to Keep Us from Further Contacting them has been put it on Their Spam Warning List...Neat We're Not Spammers...
We just want Information so We can do this Our Selves.
Talking about a Heart Sinking...Hair Pulling... Nail Biting Experience
The Thing is when You Get Your Website Your Baby Up and running You forget maybe some things forgot to Check.
You see We Assumed that We had all the Info and were in Total Control... Wrong Wrong Wrong.
So this Weeks Help is not a Complaint... its Hopefully a Helpful Tip...Complaints only Cloud the Mind.
DNS Settings Using the Whois Search.
Things to Look for if You have a Website or are Going to get one.- When Signing Up for a Webhost does it include Free Domain or Web Name
- Do You Have Control over DNS Settings or Does Webhost
- Does it Give You the Registrar Name plus Does it List You as Domain Owner
- The Domain Name for what Term is it 1 Year 2 Year etc and is it Renewable
- Does the WebHost give Precise Directions how You Yourself can Change the DNS Settings
All of the Above Information You should Check and Make Note of Webhost Contact Info...Registrar...DNS Settings...Term of Expiration/Renewal info
Now the Info that may help are 3 Great Sites that can Host or Park Your Domain or Website Name so You have control on them and can Change at any time if changing Webhosts
The First is the Least Expensive here You have Complete Control and is Fairly Easy to Navigate

Last but Not Least Whois
If Your Not aware You can Look up any Website or other Information by Using the Whois Lookup
This can be Quite a Life Saver if Needing Info on a Business... Product or even People.
Whois Lookups give You Info if Legitimately Registered and Whois this Name or Product Registered to
Can even Check to See who You are or How Your Website is Registered Pretty Neat.
Now if Never used the Easiest way is to use a Search Engine and the Best is Google though a Few Others work sometimes better

You just follow this Link install it and Next Time Open Your Browser will see the Google Search

Now when Need Info type in Whois in the Google Search Address and Voila will Pop Up the Names of the Most Tops Search Whois Places.
