Changing Web Servers can be a Nightmare.
The Do's and Don't of Web Server Changes
For You that have been following Us for a while You will have noticed in Past week or longer...We have been experiencing Difficulites with Our Websites.
Lets just say We have a Fantastic Webserving Account You can check them out.

The thing is needless to say... We found out the New High Speed Server they put us on... had to make a Lot of Changes to Our Webpages.
Ultimately We feel that this New Free Upgrade to Us will work out just Fantastic!
Featureprice will be one of Our Main Server places... but Ultimately We will be letting You know about other Fantastic Deals!
So On to the Nuts and Bolts of Server Transfers
1) Check to see all Your Web Page Folders and Files see if they are all lower case lettered
***Techies to save Time! always write lower case!
Also in Binary Computer language!
The Computer likes to talk its lowercase lingo!***
So try to Remember always leave Your Cap Lock off when writing Folder and File Names...also when Naming Pictures JPGs Gifs
2) Check and See if Email Address Names need to be Changed
A)See if Requires lower case... Apache Servers do require this as may others.
B) Check and See if Requires No Numbering beginnings... the Email Addy such as 10freedom @domain.com can be swapped to freedom10 @domain.com so remember this rule when creating Email accounts...
Notice Separated the lettering so no dummy email goes out
C) Get all info on whether Server has Capibilites of entering more then 1 name per Account such as "Info" "Reply" etc...it will Populate through all domains thusly can be used by everyone.
Though this only has to be entered once!
***Tech Tip...*** "Domain"... Means Website Name
Like Our Main Domain Name is JerSooz.com
So this means Opening merely one Domain usually the Main One not like Old way...everyone is changed instead of every domain having to be opened and name entered
When have 1 Domain with 4 Names as we have... get into habit of making this like Us infojs is Our Jersooz account and each has an initial signifying its owner infobj53 infosa infolg as examples.
You See an address like just "Info" will go to just the Main Server if monitoring all 4 domains its a Slick Concept! but baffles You when setting up like an HSG Control Panel like were given
It gives You lots more Bells and Whistles but Our 1st... a Plesk Control Panel We liked...Its simple in features less Baffling
So make sure You Get a Server info sheet.
Which We Unhappily have to admit Feature Price hasn't Offered and their Tech Support is in the Infancy Stages! Yeah 62,000 users and still No Tech Phone line can Upset You but in the next few moments make You laugh... being a Webmaster You have to Learn this! So Quit Your Whining You tell Yourself soon I will be a Force to Contend with...So Humor can come in handy sometimes
D) Remember to always Keep like a Master list of all Your Emails so if use Your Computer or Swapping Servers Your always ready!
Act as if Your Ready for anything to Happen!
Now that seems like a Strange Statement but Yes!... Act as if going to Crash Your Computer
Better Yet be always prepared to be ready for change!
Here are the things You need to know! to always be Successful
1) Who is Your Domain Provider... You need The User info Your Passwords and also Your Account numbers.
We Personally use GoDaddy for Our Domain Name and Transfers heres their Link!

2) Back-Up all of your addresses. We are talking backing up Not Only the email addresses of the people You send to, but your personal email accounts need to be saved outside of your mail program.
It can be a real challenge to remember, the Exact email address and password for more than a few email addresses!
3) Make Back-Up copies of your Contact lists. We all know...Our Contact Lists are like Gold!
You Must Back Up Your Contact lists!! Never know, you might Drop your Entire System, and have to Restore it to an earlier Date,...before you had all those Contacts.
4) Make sure You get Your IP Address number for Your Domains... Control Passwords... and the Generic Web Administrator Password.
5)Familarize Yourself with All The Control Panel Options and can quickly Manuveur it...Learn the System or Site Options so can set Site up or Emails
6)If Need Tech Support make sure You write down all Your Problems or Issues and enter them on Trouble Ticket.
7)Learn how to use an FTP software program so can Transfer all Your Files and Folders to New Site
Last but not Least Never be Afraid to have Fun!... Never let Fear Scare You away from Being a Webmaster...or the Creator of Your Own Destiny!
*So remember, be prepared for the Worst Case Scenario by backing Everything Up On other network computers, on a CD or floppy disc. *
