This Year Our Project was not only to go Wireless in the House off Our DSL line but also buy a New Laptop then before the Week is out Build a New what Call Cube Mini Computer

Well so far this Past Week...We bought a New Desk for Lindsey's Room... and set her Up with the Internet in there too

You can bet We also Monitor what she's doing...because Linds likes to Cruise the Game Sites...Plus Instant Chat with Friends too...so can never be to Careful...but this week so far...Linds with her New found freedom...seems to be working harder and smarter...which is a right move in a Positive Direction...being she helps with Her LindseyGurl Ezine by getting New Links to Kids Stuff...Kids need their Own Space...this seems to be working out...except of course Linds...Instant messaging Sooz...when she's supposed to be working

Just jumping a ahead to Step 3...then we'll explain Our Step 2 how all came around to work for Mobility...but first check out Our Baby...bought at Sams Club...where after checking many places had the Best Deal...and the Warranty is Unbelievable...Sams Link Provided when click HP 2x500 Pavillion

Hey what can We say this Price may seem extreme to some...but Our previous Laptop was in this range and just a mere 4 years ago...and has no where near the features this Baby has

Quite honestly the Old one has an AMD chip running 350Mhtz... whereby this is a...True Intel P4 3.06 Mhtz

The Old Laptop was entry level at best where this is Top of Line...You can hopefully see... Laptops have come a long ways since then

Right now the only Disadvantage we now see is...if want to Lug around the Weight being has a 15.4 inch Monitor...Plus enough Hardware/Software to choke a Horse...this Baby will do You...Plus Hey the way We see it...thats why they make rolling Luggage Carriers...So why not Spoil Yourself and Loved ones

So We hope You can see if You shop around and look very closely at what needs are...You might find a Laptop that fits Your Budget...plus Your Needs...Do Your Research

Making Your House Wireless

Well if Your sitting there going what is Wireless?... its a Transmitter/Receiver can buy that instead of installing wiring through out Home...You buy the Unit...then adaptors for Computers...that by Radio Frequency communicates with each other

The Transmitt/Receive Unit You actually mount high on Wall by the Computer...where Your Internet comes in...then install Your Adaptors do a Test between each other... then set Your Security on both and Your up and rolling within a short while

Only true Problems we had was Our 1st one was Defective with a Signaling issues...which We returned to CompUSAwho gladly gave us a Replacement... for not only the Access Point we needed...being we already had a DSL Router...We needed the Access Point type to make Our connection both a Cat5 Wire/Wireless...Plus they exchanged the 802.11 G wireless laptop Network card we had been using

Then We misread the Directions the Old Laptop was running Windows98 and We hadn't installed 2nd Edition 98 on it...this was Baffling...because We saw All Our Wired Network but not the Internet...which 2nd Edition provides with its updated Software for Wireless Connections

Then there was the Heart Rendering time spent Checking and Rechecking Our New Babies Security Settings and Connections because the Wireless wouldn't work...the Old Laptop was just humming along

Truth be told the New Baby would not come online for either... because HP provides a On/Off Switch for the Wireless Connection...already installed with the 802.11 B/G standard... which using the G standard is 5 times Faster...then the B...whereby in Our excitement didn't see the button just screaming at Us... Wireless...Turn Me on Sweetie

You see whats Great about Wireless connections...Airports and other Places like Cyber Cafes... are using the 802.11 B standard...So if Your Laptop is setup for it...You can now access their Links and use their Network

Things You need for Wireless

Though We have said we already had DSL Router and had to use an Access Point in Our Wireless connection...We also will need to put in a Switch for Additional Computers We have...this is more then a Normal House will ever need...unless of course Your a Home Business like Us

Normally if running a Modem only then all You will need is the Wireless Router say merely a 4 or 8 Port Router and say how many number of Adaptors Need for all Your Computers...these being what looks like a Lan TypeII for Laptops or the PCI plugin Type...for Desktops

Remember this if have never had more then one Computer connection in House and want say everybody to have a connection this is Fastest way and less expensive then Requiring Wiring to every place want to be connected plus the Router provides a Safer Security Barrier too from Hackers...Plus can move around Freely with a Good Signal

If You are a Company with more then this requirement...then You may have to get additional help on whether to install Bridges if have more then one Hub or Router installed or the optional Switches so You can have Wireless

We suggest You use a Network Services Provider for these Requirements
