Helping Your Child to Succeed Teaching them to Love Themselves Checking Parenting Skills Opening Lines of Communication The following information was brought about because its our feelings to many Parents...Grand Parents...Foster Parents...Custodial Adults are in a need for Guidelines...to Help Themselves and also the Children they are raising First...the most simple observation we have found...which is one of the simpliest to correct is merely being aware...they are usually merely Talking At but not Talking To the children in their care Second...they do not truely know what level the child is schoolwise or naturally assume their child is doing Ok...in whatever they are doing...or suffer from the biggest fatal flaw...that one being the schools are teaching their kids all that they need to know Third...we have found most Adults for some mysterious reason...can't remember what Guidelines or Family Rules they were raised with...some to the point its like were never a child and merely showed up in the world as an adult Fourth...they lack the ability to react in a situation or give advice that is helpful...so the child has the ability to see...that for every reaction...their is a counter reaction...or what is better known as a Consequence...which may either be Positive in Nature or cause a Negative Reaction So as you can see we now only have Four...true issues to look at ...merely a 1...2...3...4...Checklist!...nothing more nothing less 1,2,3,4 Run it down on Your Hand...Count Your Fingers Are You just merely Talking At or Talking To your child How is Your Child really doing in School or Life What example of Your Childhood are You giving for Positive Re-enforcement what really works to make them Successful Are You teaching your child the facts of Consequences...leading by example...not merely Do As I Say!...Not As I Do!...scenario Yeah! Yeah! Sure! Sure! Tell me something I don't already know Ask yourself now looking at the mere...1,2,3,4...are you sitting there going...well gee I have seen this a Million times and I am a Good Parent!...Your even a bit up in Arms...that we present this to you Better yet now ask yourself...do you assume other parents of kids...your child hangs out with...know this?...or even your childs teacher knows this??? Well if you answered Yes! Yes! to the last question...You may be amazed your so totally off base most times...it will merely boggle your mind...others do not share in your concept of being a good parent...this including your own child/children...also they do not react properly to a given situation... especially if its not their child...so check if the places your child/children are visiting also meets the standards for which your trying to teach Simple 2 Tests 1.When Your Child speaks is it Positive in Nature? 2.When Talks back or Argues...are they aware they are doing this? Then maybe further check as a Good Parent or Custodial Adult if flunk either of these tests...check into why this mannerism is going unchecked...what role model or example is not being taught...you might find it is your own unknown flaw...or any given place child/children are going...or situations/events viewing causing this...Plus be aware others as previously stated...Do not share in your opinion on child raising The Main Excuses that will give Its Not My Child...Not My Job...its Your Job I am a Good Parent and don't want to raise my voice to any child I Think a Child should be able to make up their Own Mind You should take Parenting classes...I don't need them My Child can dress anyway they like...nobody sees them...as a threat or problem child by way they dress or look My Child does not talk like that or act like that Remember just because a Parent or Custodial Adult...does not mean they will be good at it Fact #3 of the 1,2,3,4 may fully explain this...as well as the aforementioned list just went through Remember its not their child...so why should you assume...they will react as you would Remember its not their job...its yours...open the line of communication with your own child Then teach them whats is proper in society...also how to act in public Blaming the Schools or City Live in Remember Teachers and School Districts Follow State and Federal Mandated Laws Most of the times they do not have Funding for Additional Aid Class sizes are to large for Individual Student help! They are supposed to teach on a Yearly Curriculum Schedule...but not all necessarily follow the Curriculum Teachers do have sometimes their own Political agenda Discipline usually is Non-existant because hands are tied School Violence and Attacks on Children have been on a steady climb Simple test ask Your Child how short the temper level is with kids at school Another simple test how many kids at lunch time are in School nurses office to get drugs to handle aggression...or attention disorder Next ask how many fights has your child witnessed this school year alone Better yet even...ask them have they been threatened by a Classmate Might amaze you how things have changed...since your childhood...Kids now say oh yeah they have a short attention span or fuse...then may not have even mentioned it...because now are conditioned to this behavior being normal Most importantly do you know the safety precautions at their school...Does the school Your child attend have security patrols or even metal detectors installed...these 2 are definite indicators theres a problem Check to see if You can Help! The previous statement is not to say all Teachers or School Districts are all bad...because it is not...its merely to state the fact if a Teacher or School District is Bad...then on a mere Point by Point Standard...that individual problem should be addressed...because there are Teachers and School Districts that go up and beyond what they are required and can use all the help they can get...to help your child/children to succeed maybe should check into what you...yourself can do to help...not assume it will be done automaticly for you The Bigger Issue...Teach Follow the Rules To further add to the problem Most School Laws are counter-canceled by offended Parents...because Johnny or Susie as examples are offended their individual freedoms are infringed upon...simply stated its not Johnny or Susie...who feels this way...but is actually in the majority the Parent who feels this way...and if their Kid is truly the problem...then this child should be taught...through proper parenting skills...Laws are to be followed...and Laws are implimented for the Safety of the Overall Population Ask this Question...to Any Child Proper Law example...Whats a Stop Light for? Why are Traffic signals made Red...Yellow and Green? If Red is for Stop! and everybody just decided Gee I don't want to Stop on Red Why was this Law made? What would the Consequence be if ran the Red? Should We throw out the Red Light Rule? You might be amazed to find...not a child asked this will say...Oh sure lets throw that law out...its silly Simply because they have always been shown... We Stop on Red! or Someone can get Hurt Yet We as a Society...will by City...County...or State Allow School District Laws to change by Given Standards Laws that have proven to work for Safety of Our Children Laws or Views Changed School Grading Policy...Lowered School Grade requirement to pass...sloppiness or assignments turned in late... usually not a penalized Shortened Homework Assignments...Guideline for Elementary School...no more then 1 Hour to accomplish...this assessment is usually by teachers standard...whose the slowest in class...also is your child writing down the nightly assignments or even doing them...might amaze you to what level schools allow homework to be turned in...also record keeping they maintain...your child may be further behind...then what you expected...they maintain records so school district can't be held responsible Question to ask?...is your child/children even challenged or educated with these guidelines...what extra curricular training are you showing them to succeed School Dress Codes...where implimented to stop Gang colors...Student Separation views...is being changed because parents scream...can't afford the uniform or my child is an individual School uniforms usually cost less then a set of jeans...let alone designer outfits or shoes More Alternative Schools are being used...These are Schools with Lower Grading Standards...which teach trainable trades...whereby Students are allowed to pick an easier alternative...to not doing School work...instead learn a trade...inner city children...hard case kids...is the school districts way to pass them off...they are trained for future work...not neccessarily in people or education mannerism skills School Attendance guidelines have been changed whereby if a student is absent to many times...Parent is held accountable...punishable by arrest and fines in worst case scenario This does not usually address the students possible flaw in...personality/education...it merely makes parent accountable for students actions...so be aware of your childs attendance record...missing school may be indication of a deeper set resentment to education and future adult problems...school districts are funded by State and Federal Funds so attendance is recorded...so be aware of local school laws Help Your Child/Children to Succeed These are just some of the things...you as a parent or custodial parent should know Remember its only you who can take the initiative to see your child/children have the full arsenal of tools to succeed So don't be afraid to step up and help...even though it may upset your kids you make them do more then other kids...you yourself should lead by example...by giving of your time The Best Teacher...is the person who took the time to help...what Better Teacher then you...should they look up to...when need a question answered or a helping hand extended...start today if you haven't already begun Special Links We at JerSooz.com feel that its not about being a Good Parent...its really about how You can help...when a question arises So if you look to left hand margin you will find...Special Links...that possibly can help or you can share...so have the information you need at hand to take care of...anything or question that may arise The links provided are ones we have found that really do work...even some such as ToughLove.org can help with extreme problems...so hope you like them Open the Line of Communication With Your Child Today!
